Hennessey Venom GT (270 Mph) Review: What're its' amazing features?

Since the April of 2013, 427.6 km/h or 265.7 mph was the highest speed the Hennessey Venom GT reached for the whole course of about 2 miles in Lemoore, California. However, things changed today. It has just hit the new record of 270 mph.

The fantastic appearance of the Hennessey Venom GT

This supercar used 2 VBOX 3i systems of data logging to document its run. Also, it had the VBOX officials available to certify its numbers.

New record of the car

In 2014, this car reached the highest speed of 435.31 km/h or 270.49 mph in a distance of 3.7 km or 2.3 miles. However, that run was designed for only one single direction, and the total sold cars were 13 cars so that it could not qualify for the Guinness Records of the World.

Despite the above fact, the specialist expected that the car might go ten faster than its recorded figure if they had enough tarmac.

Strong engine

The Hennessey Venom GT was about 224 kW or 300 hp down on its power as it had several issues with its three fuel pumps which were assessed as in a high capacity. Typically, its forced induction V8 engine of 7.0 liters generates 1,082 kW or 1,451 hp and 1,745 Nm or 1,287 lb-ft of torque.

The engine of the car has one 1,244 hp power output at about 6,600 rpm. It was mated perfectly to its wheels at the rear with the Ricardo manual transmission that was used in the Ford GT.

Detailed specifications

The car utilizes the heavily modified Exige/ Lotus Elise chassis. This design uses Lotus Exige components, including the side glass, roof, doors, floor pans, windscreen, cockpit, headlamps, HVAC system, and wiper.

The Hennessey Venom GT weighs 1,244 kg or 2,743 lb with its wheels and bodywork made of carbon fiber and carbon fiber. Its brakes have the Brembo calipers of 6-pistons at its front along with 4-pistons at its rear. The car rotors include 15 units made of carbon ceramic.

How about its drivetrain?

With twin-turbocharges in V8 engine, its LSX architecture can incorporate specific features like head bolts and reinforced components. It's aluminum heads comprise twin bearing turbochargers.

A programmable system to control the traction of the car may manage its power output well. Its computational fluid tested bodywork along with downforce also assist in keeping the vehicle stable.

Additionally, the car has a suspension system which can adjust the ride height by 61 mm or 2.4 in according to special driving conditions and speed. Also, it was fitted well with the Sport tires of Michelin Pilot.

Final word

The birth of the Hennessey Venom GT was indeed a massive success of the firm, confirming its sign in the supercar production market.

Under different conditions on the racetrack and road, its aero system is so active that you can make the rear wing adjustable enough to deploy. It is indeed so amazing and worth to try!
